Celebrating 20 Years of Impact: 2006-2026

Twenty years ago, in 2006, Jambo Africa Community was born from a simple but powerful vision: to create bridges between African and British communities while protecting and empowering the most vulnerable.
Our Journey
What started as grassroots work in schools and community centres has grown into a multi-programme charity operating across two continents. From FGM awareness workshops to our upcoming Safe Village project in Kenya, every step has been guided by our core belief in the power of community, culture, and compassion.
Key Milestones
- 2006: Founded and registered as a UK charity
- 2010: Launched FGM awareness programmes in schools
- 2015: Started Proud to Be African-British youth programme
- 2024: Secured land for the Jambo Africa Safe Village
- 2025: Hope Springs Home fully funded
Looking Ahead
As we enter our third decade, our focus is on completing the Jambo Africa Safe Village—a 30-bed rescue centre for girls fleeing FGM, forced marriage, and violence. This is our most ambitious project yet, and we need your support to make it happen.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey. Here's to the next 20 years of impact.
