The Heart of Ethnic Minority Life in Thanet

For 20 years, Jambo Africa Community UK has been a home and a voice for ethnic minority residents in Thanet. We turn isolation into belonging—celebrating culture, championing rights, and supporting children, young people, and families to thrive.

From youth clubs and our Therapeutic African Drumming Circle to advice for parents, we create spaces where people feel seen, valued, and able to shape their community. Our work bridges cultures, reduces barriers to integration, and ensures ethnic minority voices are heard in decisions that affect their lives—and we carry that same spirit into our international work in Kenya.

Our International Work

Reaching Beyond Thanet to Kenya

The same compassion that drives our work in Thanet extends to Kenya, where we protect vulnerable girls and support young women on the road to recovery. Our UK and Kenyan work share one belief: every person deserves protection, dignity, and opportunity.

Urgent Appeal$380,000 needed

Help Us Build the Jambo Africa Safe Village

We have secured 2 acres of land in Kajiado County, Kenya. Now we need your help to build a 30-bed rescue and rehabilitation centre for girls fleeing FGM, forced marriage, and domestic violence. This facility will shelter 120+ girls per year and provide trauma counselling, education, vocational training, and a path to independence.
